COUTSODONTIS WINERY

Coutsodontis winery produces quality small batch wine in Samos since 2016. The family winery is located in Marathocambos near the traditional stoned terraced vineyards.

SAMOS

Samos has a long heritage in viticulture from the ancient years. Island’s morphology, with the high altitude mountains, the Aegean winds, the poor soils and the unique climate provide excellent conditions to make quality wines.

OVERVIEW

Variety: Muscat Blanc

Vineyards: Small terraces, 500-700m altitude, manual cultivation

VINTAGE CONDITIONS

A normal year without extreme temperature differences after spring. The yield was below 5000 kg per hectare.

WINEMAKING PROCESS

Harvest has been done manually on cool mornings of September. Grapes are destemed and the juice is exctracted gently and transfered in a stainless steel vat to cool down for settling in order to clear. After the end of fermentation wine ages for three months with its fine lees and bottled.
